Oman is one of the sunniest countries in the world and Omani people reflect this warmth. A culture of hospitality rooted in faith generates an openness to visitors. Omanis are humble, respectful and welcoming. Hospitality is an important value in Omani culture. Don\u2019t be surprised to receive an invitation to have coffee and sweets at someone\u2019s house. <\/p>\n

For several decades, foreign observers have viewed Oman as a peaceful and politically stable state in a region often characterised by instability. Oman views its non-interference foreign policy doctrine as critical to ensuring that the Sultanate has no enemies and is not perceived as a threatening actor by any foreign government. <\/p>\n\n

They have never supported an armed group and no one has tried to attack on their territory. They welcome diplomatic summits and international peace agreements. <\/p>\n\n

Oman is making gradual progress in the area of women rights. As opposed to other countries in the region, Oman’s Basic law bans discrimination on the basis of gender. Opportunities in higher education are on the rise and opportunities for participation in the workforce are growing as well.
